Artist Statement

The essential foundation of my work is that it originates in improvisation and accident. To me, the artist, what matters is the process, the experience of shaping my artwork and refusing to accept limitations imposed by rules , elements of style and formal techniques. I trust my instinct, my eyes, my hands rather than being tied down by preconceived ideas. Not having a concept in mind is allowing me to rely completely on my own imagination while exploring the surface of the canvas with brushes and palette knives.
